June 5, New York, NY: Richard Stumpf, Atlas Music Group founder and CEO proudly announces the expansion of its Urban Department with the hiring of Latoya Lee as Vice President, Creative.

Atlas Music Publishing, which already has a stronghold in rock and pop and home to songs by artists Van Halen, John Legend, Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran, is poised to strengthen their foundation in Urban Music.

In announcing the hiring, Atlas founder and CEO Richard Stumpf noted, “Atlas is in growth mode. Urban music is arguably the most critical genre today. It was imperative that we partnered with someone who brings an ear for finding great talent and the hustle to work writers once they are in the family. We searched for 8 months and it was worth the wait. Latoya has proven her creative chops, is a go getter and is the perfect fit for Atlas. She’s also a great bowler, and that never hurts!”

Lee was formerly part of the A&R team at Warner Music Group where she A&R’d Trey Songz Trigga and Tremaine The Album and worked on Fast & Furious 7 & 8, and Suicide Squad soundtracks. Additionally, Lee A&R’d Kevin Gates “I Don’t Get Tired,” Flo Rida ft Sage The Gemini “GDFR,” and had a hand in creating Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth “See You Again.” Lee’s signings included reggae artist, Kranium, R&B/Soul artist, ELHAE, and R&B singer-songwriter Sabrina Claudio. Based in Atlas’s Los Angeles office, Lee has already inked deals with Atlantic Records artist ELHAE and producer Mariibeatz (Ty $, Young Thug).

“What drew me to Atlas was their artist-first philosophy and the excitement of being able to build out a great roster,” Lee says, “That’s most important to me in my career. I wanted to be somewhere that I could grow and Atlas is the ideal fit. I’m looking forward to bringing my talents to the team and building something very special."
