Atlas Music Publishing Signs Rising Pop Artist Alex Winston to Exclusive Global Pub Deal

NEW YORK, NY (May 13, 2015) Atlas Music Publishing has signed one of pop’s most promising new artists Alex Winston to an exclusive global music publishing deal, as announced today by Richard Stumpf, Founder/CEO, Atlas Music Publishing. Winston’s forthcoming full-length features work from some of music’s most successful producers, including Grammy-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Plain White T’s) and Aussie wunderkind Catherine Marks (PJ Harvey, Foals, The Killers), and is set to be released this Autumn on Lyor Cohen’s new label 300 Entertainment, which is distributed worldwide by Atlantic Records.

Since debuting in 2011, Alex Winston has established herself as one of the most talented young artists in music, drawing praise from publications like Pitchfork, Vogue, The Guardian, and Buzzfeed, to name a few. Winston’s discography features the EP The Sister Wife (2011) and the album King Con (2012), as well as multiple well-received singles, including her most recent, “Careless”, which is the lead single from her upcoming album.

“Alex is an amazingly talented artist and songwriter whose star is on the rise, and we couldn’t be more excited about her future. Her ability to channel so many diverse musical influences into a sound that’s both accessible and compelling makes her truly stand out from her contemporaries. As an artist-first company that puts a premium on developing talent, Atlas is the perfect partner to support Alex as she takes her career to the next level,” said Richard Stumpf, Founder/CEO, Atlas Music Publishing.

Originally from Detroit, Winston is now based in New York City. In addition to a warm reception from both critics and fans, her music has also proven to be a favorite among music supervisors. Her single "Choice Notes" was featured in both a European ad for the Hyundai ix20 as well as a TJ Maxx spot, and her song "Velvet Elvis" was used in an ad for Google Chrome. Winston has toured extensively across the US and Europe, supporting acts such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Gotye, among others. She has multiple US tour dates scheduled with Neon Trees throughout the summer.
