As co-producer, musical director, musician, and singer for iconic indie-dance band Miami Horror, Aaron Shanahan has spent over half a decade performing, writing, and collaborating in the music world. Along with this, Aaron also produced and performed with his psychedelic project Wunder Wunder and DJed globally with Miami Horror.
“Real Slow,” co-written by Aaron in Miami Horror, reached over 16 million listens on Spotify within its first two months and his time with the band has taken him around the world to Europe, Asia, and North and South America, playing notable shows and festivals, including the prestigious Coachella and Primavera.
After departing from Miami Horror, his current exploration has swept him inexorably towards the heart and heat of his album SUNDAY.
SUNDAY is music drawn from the Californian desert, music that Aaron has provoked from its rocks and rinsed from its open sky. It is a drenching of the dream-pop drifting over modulating textures and electronic beats. Much like the desert that inspired them, these tracks unfold gradually with gentle permutations that bloom into the mesmeric and ethereal. His single “Only” received rave reviews from publications such as NME, Rolling Stone, and USA Today with thousands of plays on Soundcloud, YouTube, and a high ranking on Hype Machine. Likewise, Aaron has had the opportunity to successfully tour by DJing tracks from SUNDAY along with a synchronized visual show.
This same serene detail that defines SUNDAY has made Aaron a much sought-after collaborator. In just a few years, he has toured with the likes of Phoenix, Crystal Fighters, Washed Out, and Empire of the Sun and collaborated with Vera Blue, Gigamesh, Saint Lou Lou, George Maple, and many more.
